The purpose of this policy is to help keep JPDF safe, reliable, lawful, and available for everyone. You agree to use the Services only for lawful, legitimate, and authorized purposes.
This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this policy have the meanings given to them in our Terms of Service.
1. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your use of the Services and for ensuring that your use complies with this Acceptable Use Policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.
You must have all rights, permissions, licenses, consents, and legal authority necessary to upload, process, modify, convert, store, download, share, or otherwise use any file or content submitted to the Services.
You must not use JPDF as a means of avoiding legal obligations or as a substitute for obtaining appropriate authorization to process documents or information belonging to another person or organization.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, malicious, deceptive, harmful, or unauthorized purpose.
Without limiting the foregoing, prohibited uses include the following.

You may not use the Services to:
- violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, or governmental requirement;
- facilitate, promote, plan, or commit criminal activity;
- create or distribute materials intended to facilitate unlawful activity;
- attempt to evade law enforcement or regulatory requirements;
- process information obtained through unlawful means;
- assist another person in carrying out an illegal activity; or
- otherwise use JPDF in a manner that would cause us to violate applicable law.
4. Fraud, Deception, and Impersonation
You may not use the Services to create, modify, process, or distribute documents or other materials intended to deceive, defraud, impersonate, misrepresent, or unlawfully obtain money, property, services, access, or personal information.
This includes, without limitation:
- fraudulent invoices, receipts, contracts, certificates, or financial documents;
- fake identity documents or credentials;
- forged signatures or authorizations;
- fraudulent employment, academic, government, or business documents;
- documents designed to impersonate another individual or organization;
- materials used in phishing or social engineering schemes;
- documents intended to mislead a person about their authenticity or origin; and
- any other materials created or manipulated for fraudulent or deceptive purposes.
The ordinary editing, formatting, conversion, compression, or organization of legitimate documents is not prohibited merely because a document is capable of being modified.
5. Malware and Harmful Code
You may not use the Services to upload, distribute, transmit, generate, conceal, or facilitate malware or other harmful software or code.
Prohibited material includes, without limitation:
- viruses;
- worms;
- trojans;
- ransomware;
- spyware;
- keyloggers;
- rootkits;
- malicious scripts;
- payloads designed to compromise systems; and
- other code or files designed to damage, disrupt, monitor, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
You must not use JPDF as a delivery mechanism, distribution channel, staging environment, or storage location for malicious software.
6. Security Abuse
You may not use the Services to attack, compromise, interfere with, probe, scan, or gain unauthorized access to JPDF, its infrastructure, third-party systems, or another person's account or data.
Prohibited activities include:
- attempting to bypass authentication or access controls;
- exploiting vulnerabilities without authorization;
- penetration testing without our prior written authorization;
- port scanning or unauthorized security scanning;
- denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks;
- attempting to disrupt or overload the Services;
- introducing malicious traffic or requests;
- interfering with servers, networks, or infrastructure;
- attempting to access another user's files or information;
- attempting to circumvent security controls or rate limits; and
- using vulnerabilities or technical weaknesses to obtain unauthorized benefits.
7. Unauthorized Access and Privacy Violations
You may not use JPDF to process, obtain, disclose, modify, or distribute another person's personal information without appropriate authorization.
You must not use the Services to facilitate unauthorized surveillance, stalking, harassment, identity theft, credential theft, or unauthorized collection of personal information.
You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law before processing personal information through the Services.
8. Intellectual Property and Copyright
You may not use the Services to infringe, misappropriate, or violate the intellectual property rights of another person or organization.
This includes copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity, privacy, moral rights, and other proprietary rights.
You must not upload, reproduce, convert, distribute, or otherwise process copyrighted or proprietary material unless you have the necessary rights, permission, license, or other lawful basis to do so.
JPDF does not determine ownership of user-uploaded content and does not grant you rights to content merely because our Services can process it.
9. Circumvention and Abuse of Service Limits
You may not circumvent, disable, defeat, or otherwise interfere with technical restrictions, usage limits, rate limits, security mechanisms, access controls, or other safeguards implemented by JPDF.
This includes:
- creating or using multiple accounts to evade restrictions;
- using automated systems to bypass rate limits;
- manipulating requests to obtain unauthorized processing capacity;
- attempting to defeat file-size or usage restrictions;
- reverse engineering mechanisms intended to enforce access restrictions; and
- using technical methods to obtain functionality that JPDF has intentionally restricted.
10. Automated Access and Bots
JPDF may permit reasonable automated access to certain portions of the Services, including through an officially documented API where available. Any such access must comply with applicable documentation, technical limits, and usage restrictions.
You may not use bots, crawlers, scripts, scraping systems, automation tools, or other automated mechanisms in a manner that places unreasonable load on the Services or interferes with their normal operation.
Unless expressly authorized by JPDF, you may not use automated systems to replicate the core functionality of JPDF, harvest substantial amounts of data, circumvent access restrictions, or consume processing resources in a manner inconsistent with the intended use of the Services.
11. Excessive Resource Consumption
JPDF is intended for ordinary personal, educational, professional, and legitimate business use.
You may not use the Services in a manner that consumes excessive computing, storage, bandwidth, processing, or other resources, or that materially degrades the experience or availability of the Services for other users.
We may apply technical restrictions, rate limits, temporary suspensions, or other measures when reasonably necessary to maintain system stability and fair access.
12. Spam and Abuse
You may not use JPDF to facilitate spam, bulk abuse, unsolicited communications, phishing, fraudulent campaigns, or other abusive activities.
You must not use our infrastructure as a distribution mechanism for unsolicited or malicious content.
13. Harmful or Abusive Content
You may not use the Services to create, process, distribute, or facilitate content that is unlawful or that materially facilitates violence, exploitation, abuse, harassment, or other unlawful harm.
JPDF may take action where content or activity presents a credible security, legal, operational, or safety risk, subject to applicable law.
14. Child Exploitation and Abuse
JPDF has zero tolerance for the use of its Services to create, process, store, distribute, solicit, or facilitate child sexual abuse material or other content involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of children.
Any use of the Services for such purposes is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.
15. Dangerous or Regulated Activities
You may not use the Services to facilitate unlawful activities involving weapons, explosives, controlled substances, trafficking, terrorism, or other highly regulated activities where such use violates applicable law.
Legitimate and lawful documentation relating to regulated industries is not prohibited solely because the subject matter is regulated.
16. Misuse of PDF Processing Features
JPDF's PDF processing capabilities may include conversion, compression, merging, splitting, editing, unlocking, or other document-related functions.
You must not use these capabilities to circumvent lawful access restrictions, remove protections without authorization, defeat digital rights management, or gain access to content that you are not legally authorized to access.
The availability of a particular PDF feature does not constitute permission to use that feature for unlawful purposes.
17. Confidential and Sensitive Information
You are responsible for determining whether JPDF is an appropriate service for processing confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular Service, you should not assume that JPDF is a specialized system for regulated information, classified information, highly confidential business information, medical records, financial account credentials, authentication secrets, or other information requiring specialized security controls.
Do not upload passwords, private keys, authentication tokens, or similar credentials to the Services.
18. Prohibited Attempts
Attempts to violate this Acceptable Use Policy are treated in the same manner as completed violations where appropriate.
This includes planning, facilitating, assisting, encouraging, directing, or knowingly providing resources for prohibited activities.
19. Monitoring and Enforcement
To protect the Services, users, and third parties, JPDF may use reasonable technical and operational measures to detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to abuse, security threats, fraud, and violations of this policy.
We are not obligated to proactively monitor all content or activity submitted through the Services, and we do not assume responsibility for reviewing every file or use of the Services.
Where permitted by applicable law, JPDF may investigate suspected violations and may take appropriate action based on the circumstances.
20. Enforcement Actions
If we reasonably believe that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy, our Terms of Service, applicable law, or the security or integrity of the Services, we may take one or more actions without prior notice where reasonably necessary.
Possible actions include:
- blocking or restricting specific requests;
- limiting processing capacity or usage;
- removing or disabling access to content where legally appropriate;
- suspending or terminating an account;
- restricting access to particular features;
- blocking IP addresses, devices, or other technical identifiers;
- preserving relevant information for investigation;
- cooperating with law enforcement or other authorized authorities; and
- taking any other action reasonably necessary to protect JPDF, its users, or third parties.
We may take immediate action when necessary to address an actual or suspected security threat, unlawful activity, significant abuse, or material risk to the Services or other users.
21. No Obligation to Restore Access
If access to the Services is restricted, suspended, or terminated because of an actual or suspected violation, JPDF is not obligated to restore access unless we determine that restoration is appropriate.
We may impose additional conditions before restoring access, including verification, remediation, or assurances that prohibited activity will not recur.
22. Reporting Abuse
If you believe that someone is using JPDF in violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, you may report the issue through our Contact page.
Reports should include enough information for us to understand the alleged violation and investigate it where appropriate.
Do not include unnecessary personal information or confidential material when submitting a report.
23. Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints
If you believe that content processed through JPDF infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us through our Contact page with sufficient information to identify the allegedly infringing material and explain the basis of your claim.
We may take action where required by applicable law and may request additional information necessary to evaluate a complaint.
24. Law Enforcement and Legal Requests
JPDF may cooperate with valid legal requests, investigations, court orders, subpoenas, warrants, or other lawful demands from competent authorities, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this policy prevents JPDF from complying with legal obligations or protecting the security and integrity of its Services.
25. No Guarantee of Availability
JPDF does not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or capable of processing every file or request.
We may temporarily restrict, suspend, modify, or discontinue portions of the Services for maintenance, security, capacity management, technical reasons, legal requirements, or other legitimate operational reasons.
26. Changes to This Acceptable Use Policy
We may modify this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, technology, legal requirements, security practices, or business operations.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Where required by applicable law, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
Your continued use of the Services after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
27. Relationship to Other Policies
This Acceptable Use Policy should be read together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
In the event of a conflict between this Acceptable Use Policy and a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the mandatory legal requirement will control to the extent of the conflict.
