1. Agreement to These Terms

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Eligibility
You may use the Services only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws applicable to you.
If you use the Services on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
JPDF may restrict or discontinue access where we reasonably believe that a User does not satisfy applicable eligibility requirements.
3. Description of the Services
JPDF provides online tools designed to help users process PDF documents and related files. Depending on the features currently available, the Services may include functions such as PDF conversion, compression, merging, splitting, editing, extraction, transformation, downloading, or other document-processing functionality.
The specific features, file formats, limits, processing capabilities, availability, and technical requirements may change from time to time.
JPDF reserves the right to add, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any feature or portion of the Services at any time, subject to applicable law.
4. Free Services
JPDF may provide some or all of its Services free of charge.
"Free" does not mean that the Services are guaranteed to remain free indefinitely. JPDF may introduce paid features, usage limits, subscriptions, advertising, or other monetization methods in the future.
Any paid feature or service will be subject to additional pricing, billing, or service terms presented to you at the applicable time.
5. No Guarantee of Continuous Availability
We strive to keep JPDF available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, complete, or error-free.
The Services may become temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical failures, security incidents, infrastructure problems, third-party failures, network conditions, excessive demand, legal requirements, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
JPDF may perform maintenance, modify infrastructure, impose temporary restrictions, or suspend portions of the Services when reasonably necessary to maintain security, stability, performance, or legal compliance.
6. Your Files and User Content
The Services may allow you to upload, submit, process, modify, download, or otherwise interact with PDF files and other content ("User Content").
You retain your ownership rights in User Content that you submit to the Services. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to JPDF.
However, you grant JPDF and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, transmit, reproduce, process, modify as technically necessary, and otherwise use User Content solely to the extent reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services, comply with law, prevent abuse, and enforce these Terms.
This license ends when the applicable User Content is deleted from systems operated or controlled by JPDF, except to the extent retention is required by law, necessary for legitimate security or fraud-prevention purposes, or preserved in backup systems subject to normal retention cycles.
7. Your Responsibility for User Content
You are solely responsible for your User Content and for all consequences arising from submitting or processing it through the Services.
By uploading or processing User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- you own the content or have all rights, licenses, permissions, and authorizations necessary to use and process it;
- your use of the content does not violate any applicable law or regulation;
- your use of the content does not infringe the rights of another person or organization;
- you have obtained any legally required consent to process personal information contained in the content; and
- the content does not violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Sensitive and Confidential Information
JPDF is a general-purpose online PDF processing service. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific Service, JPDF should not be considered a specialized secure repository, archival service, confidential document vault, or regulated-data processing platform.
You are responsible for determining whether the Services are appropriate for the information contained in a document before uploading it.
You should exercise particular caution with documents containing passwords, private keys, authentication credentials, financial account information, government identifiers, medical information, trade secrets, classified information, or other highly sensitive data.
Do not upload information that you are prohibited from sharing or processing through a third-party online service.
9. File Processing and Processing Results
JPDF uses automated systems and, where applicable, third-party infrastructure to process files submitted through the Services.
Processing may fail, produce unexpected results, be incomplete, or be unavailable for certain files, formats, sizes, structures, encryption methods, or other technical conditions.
You are responsible for reviewing all processing results before relying on them for business, legal, financial, educational, professional, or other important purposes.
JPDF does not guarantee that a processed document will preserve every element, feature, font, metadata field, attachment, annotation, layout, hyperlink, security setting, or other property of the original file.
You should retain your original files and maintain appropriate backups.
10. Prohibited Uses
Your use of the Services is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy.
You must not use JPDF for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, malicious, abusive, or unauthorized activities, including activities involving malware, security attacks, fraud, forgery, unauthorized access, intellectual property infringement, privacy violations, or excessive resource consumption.
JPDF may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that the Services are being used in violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law.
11. Accounts
Certain features may require or permit you to create an account.
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
You must provide accurate information when required and must not impersonate another person or create an account using information that you are not authorized to use.
You must promptly notify JPDF if you reasonably believe that your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization.
JPDF is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to protect your credentials or account information.
12. Intellectual Property Rights
JPDF and its licensors own or control all rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including the website, software, interface, design, branding, logos, graphics, text, documentation, and other materials provided by JPDF, except for User Content and third-party materials.
Subject to these Terms, JPDF grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Services for lawful purposes.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, publicly display, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works of JPDF's Services or proprietary materials except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law or expressly permitted by JPDF in writing.
13. Trademarks
JPDF, JPDF.net, associated names, logos, branding, and related marks are owned by JPDF or their respective owners.
You may not use JPDF branding in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, partnership, or authorization without prior written permission.
14. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, comments, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback regarding the Services ("Feedback"), you grant JPDF a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and otherwise exploit that Feedback for any lawful purpose without compensation or attribution to you.
You represent that you have the right to provide the Feedback and that its use by JPDF will not violate the rights of any third party.
15. Third-Party Services
JPDF may rely on third-party providers for hosting, storage, infrastructure, analytics, security, communications, payment processing, advertising, file processing, or other functionality.
Third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. JPDF does not control and is not responsible for the availability, performance, security, content, or practices of third-party services.
Your use of a third-party service may therefore be subject to additional terms imposed by that provider.
16. Links to Third-Party Websites
JPDF may provide links to websites, applications, advertisements, or resources operated by third parties.
Such links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation by JPDF.
JPDF is not responsible for third-party websites or resources, including their availability, content, security, privacy practices, products, or services.
17. Advertising
JPDF may display advertisements or use advertising-related services.
Advertisements may be provided by third-party advertising networks or other providers and may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
JPDF does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, legality, availability, or quality of third-party advertisements, products, or services.
Any transaction or interaction between you and an advertiser is solely between you and the advertiser unless expressly stated otherwise.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that information may be collected, used, processed, and disclosed as described in that Privacy Policy.
19. Security
You must not interfere with or compromise the security of the Services.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to JPDF systems, accounts, networks, files, infrastructure, or data.
You must not introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities without authorization, conduct denial-of-service attacks, bypass security controls, or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Services.

20. Service Limits and Fair Use
JPDF may establish technical or operational limits on file size, processing frequency, storage, bandwidth, API requests, account activity, or other aspects of the Services.

You may not use the Services in a manner that unreasonably consumes resources or materially interferes with the Services or other users.
21. Automated Access and API Use
Where JPDF provides an API or otherwise permits automated access, you must comply with all applicable API documentation, technical requirements, authentication requirements, rate limits, and usage restrictions.
You may not use automated systems to circumvent restrictions, overload infrastructure, scrape substantial amounts of data, reproduce JPDF's Services, or otherwise abuse automated access.
JPDF may revoke or restrict API access at any time where reasonably necessary to protect the Services or enforce these Terms.
22. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time.
JPDF may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice where permitted by applicable law, if:
- you violate these Terms;
- you violate the Acceptable Use Policy;
- you violate applicable law;
- your activity creates a security or operational risk;
- your activity may expose JPDF or others to legal liability;
- your use materially interferes with the Services or other users;
- fraudulent or abusive activity is suspected; or
- we discontinue the relevant Service.
We may also take immediate action when necessary to address security threats, unlawful activity, abuse, or other circumstances requiring prompt intervention.
23. Effect of Termination
Upon termination or suspension, your right to access and use the affected Services may immediately cease.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and other provisions intended to survive termination.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JPDF DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, AND SECURITY.
JPDF DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
JPDF DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ANY PARTICULAR FILE WILL BE SUCCESSFULLY PROCESSED, PRESERVED, CONVERTED, COMPRESSED, EDITED, OR REPRODUCED WITHOUT CHANGES.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING AND VERIFYING ALL OUTPUTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM.
25. No Professional Advice
JPDF provides document-processing technology and does not provide legal, financial, tax, accounting, medical, regulatory, professional, or other specialized advice.
The availability or processing of a document does not constitute approval, verification, certification, authentication, or legal validation of its contents.
You should obtain professional advice where appropriate before relying on any document or information processed through the Services.
26. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JPDF AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, CONTRACTORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA, GOODWILL, REPUTATION, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JPDF SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS, CORRUPTION, ALTERATION, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, OR UNAVAILABILITY OF USER CONTENT, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT SUCH LIABILITY CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF JPDF ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO JPDF FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
27. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JPDF and its owners, operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, contractors, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:
- your use or misuse of the Services;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of the Acceptable Use Policy;
- your violation of applicable law;
- your infringement or violation of another person's rights; or
- your unauthorized use of the Services.
JPDF reserves the right to assume exclusive control and defense of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense.
28. Force Majeure
JPDF will not be responsible for delay, interruption, or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, power failures, Internet or telecommunications failures, infrastructure outages, cyberattacks, third-party service failures, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
29. Changes to the Services
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
We may also introduce new functionality, remove obsolete features, modify technical requirements, or change usage limits.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JPDF will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Where required by applicable law, we may provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes.
Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
31. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable to JPDF and its operation, without regard to conflict of law principles, except to the extent that mandatory consumer protection or other applicable laws require otherwise.
Nothing in this section is intended to deprive consumers of mandatory rights or protections available under the laws of their place of residence.
32. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with JPDF, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally by contacting us through our Contact page.
We will make reasonable efforts to review and respond to legitimate complaints and disputes.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking emergency, injunctive, or other relief where such relief is available under applicable law.
33. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
34. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision or any other provision in the future.
35. Assignment
You may not assign, transfer, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
JPDF may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, sale of assets, financing, change of control, or other business transaction.
36. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and JPDF concerning your use of the Services, except where additional terms expressly apply to a particular Service.
37. No Third-Party Beneficiaries
Unless expressly stated otherwise, these Terms do not create any rights, benefits, or causes of action for any third party.
38. Electronic Communications
By using the Services or communicating with JPDF electronically, you consent to receive electronic communications where permitted by applicable law.
Electronic communications may include notices, policy updates, service information, security alerts, and responses to support or privacy requests.
